After 30+ years, Cheri Figgins is retiring.

The Pendleton Co. Public Library is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Library Director.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Library Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Library operations to efficiently and effectively serve the public needs.  We are seeking a candidate with strong communication skills, who is knowledgeable about current library trends, technology, and business/finance.

Starting salary is negotiable with health insurance and retirement benefits.  A Masters in Library Science is preferred but not required.  Start date will be June 1, 2017.

Drop Your Drawers at the Library

We reached our goal of 200 pairs of underwear! We now have 223 pairs. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated! All of the underwear will be donated to the South and North Resource Centers to be used in the elementary schools.This is a great cause so keep donating. The more the better!

 

Make your next visit to the Library a brief one, for a good cause, as part of Pendleton County Public Library’s Drop Your Drawers campaign.

Drop off packages of new underwear for boys and girls, preferably sizes 4-16, from November 1 – December 31, at the Library.  Donations will help replenish Pendleton County elementary schools’ supplies of emergency underpants and provide direct assistance to each school’s Family Resource Centers.

 

Antique Book Sale

We have received 5 collections of antique books. Click "Read More" to find photos, descriptions, and asking prices for each set. If you like, the sets can be viewed at the Library during regular business hours. Offers, questions, or inquiries can be submitted via email at helpdesk@pcplibrary.org, our Facebook, phone: 859-654-8535 or in person at the Library. Checks, cash, or credit cards are accepted.

Adult Craft Night

Due to circumstances beyond our control, this program is being cancelled. Those who have preregistered, please contact Kelly at the Library for more information. We apologize for the inconvenience.

All adults are invited to join us for an Adult Craft Night. Donna Bathalter of "SugarPie's" will be here to help us create cards, explore scrapbooking, and introduce us to embossing.  Registration needed due to limited seating. Please register by November 28th.

The Bookshelf

Date: Tuesday, December 6

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Location: Community Room - Pendleton County Public Library

Join The Bookshelf for some interesting books and great discussions. This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month. You can pick up a book from us to join in! The books will be loaned from the library, so everyone will need an active card to participate.

This month we will be discussing: "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank.

Whatever Wednesdays

Time: 3:30 - 5:00 pm

Hey Teens!  If you're not here, you're missing a lot!  Join us after school for some fun, food, and crafts! 

Open to all teens grades 6th - 12th!

Story Hour

Date: Friday, December 9

Time: 10:30 a.m.

This time is specially geared towards our young readers, ages 3-5. Bring your little ones as we read stories together, work on crafts, and enjoy snacks.

Please remember, if school is closed on Friday's, Story Hour is cancelled for that day.

Senior Adults Bingo

Date: Friday, December 9

Time: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Attention Senior Adults! Anyone ages 50 and up is welcome to join us for FREE Bingo! Total Care Pharmacy will be donating some of our doorprizes and give-aways. Don't miss the fun... plan to be with us.  Refreshments will be served.  Limited seating available.

Minecraft Meet

Date: Saturday, December 10

Time: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Come play Minecraft at the Library! The Library will have several accounts ready for anyone who does not have their own account, however, you may use your own if you have one. To participate, please join our Facebook Group to register. Space is limited. For ages 8-15.
