The Pendleton County Public Library is partnering with Kentucky Educational Television (KET) and EC LEARN to offer Molly of Denali Family and Community Learning workshops. These fun, hands-on learning experiences for the whole family are sure to spark interest in literacy and informational text. Geared toward families with children ages three to eight (plus older and younger siblings), each session will engage families using creative play and exploration to introduce kids and grown-ups to tangible and digital tools that can be used to develop their knowledge, practice and perspectives using informational text-text whose main purpose is to convey information. Examples include maps, instructions, recipes, and books.
There is no cost for the workshops and dinner will be provided to start each session. From there each Family and Community Learning workshop will foster learning goals through collaborative, hands on activities, engagement with, and creation of, a variety of informational texts, digital educational game play, videos and discussion.
Families may attend all four or the series sessions or individual workshops.
