Purchasing supplies for school can be expensive. To help alleviate some of this financial burden, the Library is proud to offer several TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculators. This calculator can help visualize concepts related to math and science courses. We have 4 ready to checkout for 2 weeks at a time and can be renewed up to 3 times. If you prefer, we also have 2 that are for use in the Library only. These are available at our Circulation Desk. Contact us with any questions or inquiries.

Backyard Wilderness Exhibit
Stop by the Library and see our Backyard Wilderness Exhibit. It is a 10’ x 6’ x 6’ interactive display focusing on the basics of the ecosystem. The featured species all have territories that span much of North America, and the idea is to let kids start exploring within the exhibit, then take their curiosity outside into their own backyard, parks and other outdoor spaces. The display features:
¨ Eye-catching photorealistic artwork
¨ Scavenger hunt of 15 different plants and animals hidden in the exhibit
¨ A beautiful durable printed carpet
¨ “Telescopes” that provide more information about the creatures they’re pointing at
¨ Tips on how to become an outdoor explorer
¨ Inspiring quotes hidden in the tree roots
¨ A companion popup banner with a scavenger hunt cheat sheet of all and next steps for further engagement.
GED Skills Improvement Classes Changed
GED Skills Improvement Classes will no longer be offered at PCPL. The services offered at PCPL by the KY Skills U will now be a GED Access Point. Students can call the same number, 859-823-1341, and schedule an appointment to meet with Lisa Beach. She will be at the Library every Wednesday. She will explain the program via orientation, and start assessment testing. Students who are ready will then begin the GED testing process. After the assessment, students who have instructional needs will be counseled and be given an individual learning plan which may include access to online studies and the option to come to the Grant County Skills U center for face to face instruction.
