Borrowing Information

General Circulation

  • A patron must be a registered borrower before materials may be checked out.
  • Patrons must present their library card to staff to check out materials.
  • The borrower must pay any charges incurred for damage or loss of materials.  Materials damaged beyond reasonable repair or lost while in the care of the patron must be paid for according to the latest replacement price.
  • Library privileges may be revoked if overdue materials are not returned.

 

Material

Books, Magazines, Books on CDs & Music CDs

  • Loan Period: 2 weeks
  • Limit: 5 items per subject (non-fiction)

 

Graphic Novels

  • Loan Period: 2 weeks
  • Limit: 25 (Adult, Junior, and/or Young Adult Graphic Novels)

 

DVDs

  • DVDs may not be used for commercial purposes and no admission may be charged.
  • Patrons with an adult card may check out G, PG,PG13 and R rated entertainment DVDs.
  • Patrons with a juvenile card may check out G and PG rated entertainment DVDs.
  • DVDs with new stickers cannot be checked out to the same patron in consecutive order.

DVDs [DVD] (PG13, R, & supplied PG13/R ratings)

  • Loan Period: 2 weeks
  • Limit: 4 DVDs on an adult card (not to exceed a combined total of 4 DVDs and/or Children’s DVDs) and 0 DVDs on a juvenile card

 

Children’s DVDs [CHDVD] (G, PG, & supplied G/PG ratings)

  • Loan Period: 2 weeks
  • Limit: 2 DVDs on a juvenile card and 4 DVDs on an adult card (not to exceed a combined total of 4 DVDs and/or Children’s DVDs)

Non-fiction DVDs [NFDVD]

  • Loan Period: 2 week
  • Limit: 5 DVDs

 

Easy Reader Kits & Playaways

  • Loan Period: 2 weeks
  • Limit: 1 Kit & 1 Playaway

 

Games

  • Loan Period: 2 weeks
  • Limit: 1

 

Interlibrary Loans

  • Loan Period: designated by the lending library
  • Limit: 2

 

Genealogy Materials & Reference Materials

  • Non-circulating

 

 

Borrower Types

Adult

  • Standard loan periods and check out limits apply.

 

Bookmobile 

  • Loan Period: extended to 4 weeks (excluding DVDs and Games)
  • Standard check out limits apply.

 

Juvenile (under 18 years of age)

  • Standard loan periods and check out limits apply.

 

Limited - assigned to patrons with outstanding fees for loast or damaged items, upon request.

  • Patrons with a Limited borrower type must make a good faith payment of any amount each time they use their library card.  Once all fees have been paid and upon patron request, the borrower type may be changed a appropriate and full borrowing privileges restored.
  • Standard loan periods apply.
  • Check Out Limit: 2 items total.

 

New Borrower

  • Limit: 2 items total
  • Stnadard loan periods apply.

 

New Juvenile Borrower (under 18 years of age)

  • Limit: 2 items total
  • Standard loan periods apply.

 

Teachers (full-time teachers or aids, daycares, home school) one teacher card per home school family

  • Loan Period: extended to 4 weeks (excluding DVDs and Games)
  • Limit: extended to 10 items per subject (non-fiction)

 

 

Renewals

  • Renewals may be made in person, by telephone, or via the Webopac.
  • Books, Magazines, Books on CDs, Easy Reader Kits, Playaways, Music CDs and Non-fiction DVDs may be renewed three times.
  • Items that have a reserve list may not be renewed.
  • New Entertainment DVDs and Interlibrary Loans may not be renewed.

 

Reserves

  • Patrons in good standing may reserve or be put on a waiting list for materials which are currently checked out or on order.
  • Reservations may be placed in person, by telephone, or via the Webopac.
  • Limit of five reserves per card.
  • Limit of two reserves on Adult Playaways, Easy Playaways, and Easy Reader Kits per card per collection.
  • Coloring Kits, Entertainment DVDs, and Games are limited to 1 reserve per card per collection.
  • Reserves are processed in the order they are placed.
  • Once a patron has been contacted, regarding the availability of a reserved item, that item will be held for 7 days except DVDs and Games which will be held for 1 day.
